Spring Fever Hike

Posted

It's that time of year when people are anxious to begin camping and everyone wants to enjoy the evenings outside. It's also that time of year when many edible plants are out, birds are migrating through, and woodland wildflowers are in bloom.

Join the Cherokee County Conservation Board Naturalist on a "Spring Fever Hike" on Saturday, May 9, at Martin's Access. Enjoy the warm weather, try a few wild edibles, and listen to the birds sing. Meet at the Martin's Access shelter/ballfield parking lot at 2 p.m. Wear sunscreen, bug spray, and comfortable shoes to thoroughly enjoy this afternoon hike. Feel free to bring a bag and knife with you if you care to bring some wild edibles home!

Martin's Access is located east of Larrabee on C16, then one mile south on Martin's Access Rd. The ballfield shelter is located approximately 0.3 miles inside the park's north entrance.
