A celebration of life visitation for Alberta A. Aduddell, 92, of Aurelia will take place at the Aurelia Community Center on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 4-6 p.m. with the family present. Redig Funeral Home of Aurelia is in charge of the arrangements.

Alberta Ann Hintz was born on the family farm near Holstein on Dec. 6, 1933, the daughter of Henry C. and Gertrude (Schmidt) Hintz. As a child growing up on the farm she attended country school until the sixth grade, often walking the mile trip to school and back. Alberta enjoyed the farm life, helping her dad drive the tractor and developing a love of baking which she continued to do all throughout her life. In 1952, she graduated from Ida Grove High School.

On Dec. 14, 1952, Alberta was united in marriage to Richard Lee Aduddell at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. The couple welcomed home five children: Douglas, Darrell, Ross, Amy and Janette. Early in her married life, Alberta was a telephone operator at the Ida Grove Telephone Office and after the children were older she worked for 16 years in the dietary dept. at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee. Alberta was a gifted embroiderer, enjoyed fishing with her sister Lorraine, baking many delicious treats, loved playing cards and games, and adored all of her grandchildren.

Alberta passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, at Accura HealthCare of Aurelia, where she had been a resident since Aug. 6, 2024.

Preceding Alberta in death was husband Richard on April 16, 2008; her parents, Henry and Gertrude; her in-laws, Lester and Esther (Ferguson) Aduddell; son Ross; brother and sister in-law, Luverne and Helen Hintz; sister and brother in-law, Lorraine and Warren Perrin.

Left to cherish Alberta’s memories are her children: Douglas Aduddell, Darrell Aduddell, Amy and her husband Harry Buck and Janette and her husband Allan Sears; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
