It’s the “Dog Days of Summer,” and the excitement of a new school year is in the air. Cherokee State Bank and the local community are coming together to ensure that students have all the necessary supplies to succeed. Join us for the "Fill the Bus" fundraiser, a heartwarming event dedicated to collecting essential school supplies for students in need. The event will take place on Aug. 8, 15 and 22 at Cherokee State Bank from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Families, friends and community members are invited to participate in this joyful occasion, where the goal is to fill an entire school bus with donations of Crayola crayons, Crayola Markers, Crayola colored pencils, plastic folders, 1-subject wide rule spiral notebooks, Expo markers, Elmer’s glue sticks and other crucial supplies. In addition to supporting a great cause, attendees who bring a school supply get to enjoy a delicious Fareway hot dog, bag of chips, Subway cookie and cup of lemonade.
"We believe that every child deserves the tools they need to thrive in school," said Curt Johnson, president of Cherokee State Bank. "The 'Fill the Bus' event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of our students."
Donations of new school supplies can be dropped off directly at the event, and all contributions will be distributed to Cherokee and Aurelia schools to ensure that every student has a bright start to the academic year.
