Jodi K. Wielenga, 66, of Primghar passed away on June 24, 2025, at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, with Pastor Mike Agnew will officiating. A private family burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 30, at Boothby Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Online condolences may be shared at www.boothbyfuneral.com.
Jodi was born on Feb. 23, 1959, in Cherokee, to Marlin and Priscilla (McKenzie) Jenness. Raised alongside two sisters in Sutherland and Cherokee. She graduated from Washington High School in Cherokee in 1977.
Jodi was a dedicated and loving partner to Marlin Wielenga, sharing many cherished memories with him prior to his passing in June 2017.
Prior to her marriage to Marlin, Jodi was married to Bob Woods, the father of her daughter, Katelyn (Woods) Thompson. Together, they raised four children and enjoyed many happy years in Le Mars.
Earlier in life, she was married to Mike Nipp, with whom she had a daughter, Jessica Nipp, and Dan Jensen, father of Jeremy and Jake Jensen.
She dedicated over 40 years to working as a certified nursing assistant at various facilities across Northwest Iowa and served as a caretaker to residents at Hope Haven in Orange City. She retired in 2023.
She was preceded in death by her father Marlin Jenness; her husband Marlin Wielenga; and stepfather Rodney Bainbridge.
Jodi is lovingly remembered by her four children: Jeremy (Melissa) Jensen of Remsen; Jake (Jennie) Jensen of Sioux Center; Jessica Nipp and her significant other, Nick Gorter of Sheldon; and Katelyn (Wayne) Thompson of Cherokee. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her mother Priscilla Bainbridge of Cherokee; her sisters: Kelli Harmon (Harry Brutsman) of Cherokee; and Staci (Mark Sr.) Schleef of Cherokee; and her nephew, nieces and their families.
