Kiwanis Korner April 3, 2025

Posted
Like sands through an hour glass, as The World Turns, so are the Days of Kiwanis. Here we go again, kinda like a never ending story of all the wonderful things we do for our kids and community.
We started the day with an egg dish and chocolate chip cookies. That egg dish would have made every chicken in northwest Iowa proud. You did it again Amy. Thank You.
Our speaker for the day was Coach Grant Peckenschneider. Grant has been the Athletic Director and coached many different sports at Alta-Aurelia for the most of 20 years. His presentation was most informative, and interesting.
When you consider all the extra hours he put in to make everything roll, he was way underpaid. How do you say thank you for all he has done for kids? He told us that his greatest joy is watching the kids grow and helping them along the way.
First class Coach Peck. Big shoes to fill, that's for sure. I would like to tell you more, but he was talking to Kiwanians, and by now you know the rules.
Thank you Coach Peck for all you have sacrificed making Alta-Aurelia such a respected school system in all of Iowa.
A wife calls her husband at work and says she has some good news and some bad news. He's very busy and only wants the good news. She tells him the air bags in the car work. Yikes.
After Coach Peck came Les The Banker. He updated us on our financial situation. Again me and numbers ....but quite sure we gave out over $133,132.14. Could be wrong but think that's what I heard. Now that could be an exaggeration, but probably close enough.
Guess I spaced off when he told us about our income. Sure hope we didn't overspend.
Our next business matter was our SPAGHETTI DINNER that will be held Sunday April 13 from 10:30 to 1:00 at the Community Center. What a great dinning idea for Palm Sunday. It will be a free offering affair. Thanks in advance for attending. Once again we would like to remind people that you should not feel cheap if you give under $100.00 per person.
We have decided to have a golf ball drop at the Car Show. We are asking anyone who might have a bunch of old golf balls laying around, that you contact a Kiwanian if you want to get rid of them. Thanks.
One last thing. If the walking path is too long for anyone, please feel free to us a golf cart to enjoy the path. No other motorized vehicles please.
Have a great week. See you next Thursday at 7.
Hugs.
Aurelia Kiwanis
