Letter to the Editor: Take the kids to the Depot Saturday

Posted

This “Letter to the Editor” is really a “Letter to Moms and Dads, Grandmas and Gramdpas.”

Tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 27, means no school, so you can take your kids and grandkids for a time of learning and fun at the Cherokee Depot!

The Depot crew have been busy planning the day for kids of all ages. Come tour the depot, the caboose and the bunk car, the model train room and go for a mini train ride.

Pet the animals in the petting zoo. Make a rope with Judy. Laugh with a clown. Watch spinning and weaving. Learn with Laura about the animals of the fall and how bees make honey. Have Beth paint a design on your face. Pick up a craft kit to do it home. Enjoy Wayne's popcorn, but save room for dinner at the Smoke Signalz food truck.

Take your picture in the train engine backdrop, then buy some baked goods to enjoy at home after your fun day together.

You can say, “Life is good; especially at Cherokee’s Railroad Depot Family Festival.”
