MARY A. CHISMAN, 97, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away peacefully, on Saturday morning, March 1, 2025 in Accura Healthcare of Aurelia.

Mary was born on February 3, 1928 at Villisca, Iowa to George Frederick and Alice Marie (Rusk) Christian. She attended school in Wales, Iowa graduating in 1945. She then furthered her education at Simpson College at Indianola, Iowa and Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Mary was married to Curtis Chisman on May 29, 1948 at Red Oak, Iowa. To this union two children were born Ronald and Janet. The couple moved to Cherokee, Iowa in 1959. She was an Elementary School teacher for many years. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Circle, and a member of P.E.O.
Mary was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary is survived by her two children: Ronald (Jan) Chisman of Tucson, Arizona; Janet Chisman of Versailles, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Zachary Chisman of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Colleen Chisman of Tucson, Arizona; one brother: John (Charlotte) Christian of Phoenix, Arizona.
