SCOTT A. BINGHAM, 61, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Scott was born on October 22, 1963 to Paul and Donna (Noah) Bingham in Cherokee, Iowa. He grew up to graduate from Washington High School in 1982 and then worked for R.J. Thomas Manufacturing for a few years. He then pursued further education and graduated from Hawkeye Tech Community College in 1989 with a certificate in TV and VCR repair. During this same time, he met and fell in love with Lisa Nelson and they were united in marriage on June 4, 1988.

Shortly thereafter, Scott and Lisa moved to Rochester, Minnesota where Scott worked for Stillman’s Office Machines. During their time in Rochester, Scott and Lisa were blessed with their first born, Shelby, in 1993. After some time in the city, Scott and Lisa decided to move back home to Cherokee in 1996. A few years later, they were once again blessed with their second born, Jordyn, in 1999.

Once they moved back, Scott spent the bulk of his career as a copier technician with Marco Technologies traveling around Northwest Iowa and surrounding areas repairing and installing industrial copiers. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and participated in the local Lions Club chapter, being elected president for several terms. In 2020, Scott left his career with Marco Technologies and moved to Omaha, Nebraska to work at Cox Communications.

Scott liked the simple things in life. On the weekends, you could often find him watching football, cheering on the Hawkeyes or the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed watching NHRA drag racing and NASCAR races. He spent countless hours chatting with his many, many friends on Facebook while listening to his favorite music way too loud. His family was the most important thing in the world to him and he never missed an opportunity to be with them, even when it meant leaving the comfort of the town he called home to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren to support them in their ventures.

He is preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law Audrey Nelson.

Scott is survived by his wife, Lisa Bingham of Omaha, Nebraska; daughters Shelby Bingham of Omaha, Nebraska and Jordyn Bingham of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren Noni and Kyrie Bingham; sisters Paulette Kroll of Cherokee, Iowa, and Sue Nelson of Cherokee, Iowa; and many other relatives.
